Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the site General Manager the role will lead a team to enhance the operational health, safety and training systems, processes and behaviours at a strategic level. It will also provide support to the site operational functions in regard to governance, strategy, reporting and external stakeholder management.

• Undertake high level data analysis and interpretation of site HSE trends and support our organisations response to issues identified.  Coordinate and support the implementation of initiatives to completion.
• Manage site preparation and execution of HSE audits/assessments.
• Assist with change management and risk assessments activities.
• Ensure the quality of incident management and investigation processes including engagement with Clients and Regulators.
• Management of injury management and workers compensation functions

Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria:

• Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety or Training highly regarded (Minimum Diploma)
• Demonstrated substantial experience in contemporary HS&T practices/processes in Open Cut and Underground Mining (preferably coal)
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to establish working relationships at all levels within a large organization
• Outcome focused and results orientated
• Formal training in incident investigation
