Yarrabee have an opportunity for a Health & Training Officer to join the HST team!

About the Role

Reporting to the HST Manager, the Heath & Training Officer is responsible for the general administration of Yarrabee H & T systems and processes. The role will provide effective administration support to the Health and Safety Department whilst assisting in the general compliance of the Yarrabee Safety & Health Management System and the Queensland Coal Mining legislation.

This position would suit a person who has experience in health & wellbeing, injury management; has excellent attention to detail, ability to meet reporting deadlines, experience of working in a fast paced environment and have a proactive attitude with the ability to multitask.

About You

The successful candidate will be a team player who possess a strong understanding of Queensland Coal Mining legislation and its practical application while having demonstrated experience in a similar role.

The successful candidate will maintain the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Degree or Advanced Diploma in Health, Safety and Environment (or similar)
  • Minimum 2 years relevant industry experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years in a Health specialist role (highly desirable)
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus and passion on continuous improvement
  • A team player mentality and willingness to take initiative and problem solve
  • Experience in workplace rehabilitation
  • Experience in audits, inspections and reporting
