About the Position  

Reporting to the Supervisor Ancillary Equipment Maintenance some of your responsibilities may include:

  • Mechanical maintenance on CAT 994H,994K and 992K Loaders KOMATSU WA1200 Loaders, D10T dozers, 16M and 24M Graders and other CAT Ancillary equipment as required
  • Following specific maintenance programs and carrying out inspections on Ancillary equipment as required
  • Execute work orders as per schedule and to a high standard
  • Completing inspections and repairs as per the maintenance strategies
  • Identifying and rectifying faults during inspections 
  • Creating 1SAP notifications for repair on fleet
  • Scoping and creating 1SAP notifications for preventative work
  • Initiate updates to work procedures to ensure they are accurate and relevant to equipment 
  • Assisting in implementation of 5S, Safety improvement projects and standardized work 
  • Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability
  • Assisting in implementation of 5S, Safety improvement projects and standardised work
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with rescheduling of work, organising and coordinating resources, scoping of work and determining priorities 
  • Take personal responsibility for helping the team achieve expected results by doing what is required and taking timely actions 
  • Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment availabilities
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in the implementing of the new initiatives in a constructive way
  • Executing tasks to a high standard and in a timely matter

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Heavy duty Mechanical Trade Qualification 
  • Current Automotive Refrigeration handling licence
  • Current Australian C class drivers licence (HR licence is desirable)
  • Forklift Ticket
  • Working from OEM schematic drawings, manuals, and SIS/ Quick Serve
  • Strong presentation, communication and coaching skills
  • Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency
  • Ability to work closely in a team environment
  • Strong auto electrical maintenance competency, with sound diagnostic abilities
  • Ability to work off schematic drawings
  • Experience with CAT and Komatsu Ancillary equipment
  • Demonstrated experience in a relevant or equivalent role, ideally with experience in a mining environment
  • Exposure to FIFO or shift work

Location

You will be based at our Jimblebar mine site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, on a fly-in fly-out, 8 day on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off roster.   Our FIFO villages have a wide range of facilities and all rooms have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning to help you unwind, relax and sleep well.

 We know the more time you can spend at home the better, so in addition to our flights out of Perth, our Jimblebar and Newman operations are now offering those that live in WA’s beautiful South West region direct flights from Busselton. 

Jimblebar is an autonomous truck mine the first Greenfield mine in over 40 years to be both developed and operated by BHP Billiton Iron Ore. It is located 40kms North East of Newman, Western Australia.
