About the role
Are you ready for a change of scenery? We are actively seeking Experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters to join our teams at various sites in the Bowen Basin, Queensland, including Saraji, Goonyella, Caval Ridge, and Peak Downs. Your role will primarily involve the breakdown and maintenance of heavy surface mining equipment, working on a 7/7 rotating roster. We offer FIFO from Brisbane, Cairns, or Townsville, or DIDO to the Bowen Basin.
Your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Preventative and Breakdown Maintenance: Running diagnostics, testing, and servicing diesel engine vehicles.
- Fault Identification and Rectification: Inspecting and identifying faults.
- Routine Tasks: Oil changes, engine safety tests, part upgrades, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing faults.
- Procedure Updates: Initiating updates to work procedures to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Root Cause Analysis: Providing input into root cause analysis and resolving issues affecting equipment reliability.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for improvement and assisting in implementing new initiatives.
- Safety and Team Engagement: Demonstrating a focus on safety, achievement, and team engagement in all aspects of work.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience with CAT, Hitachi, Komatsu, or Liebherr heavy mining equipment.
- Skills: Excellent diagnostic skills and experience with excavators and drills (highly regarded but not essential).
- Commitment: High commitment to safety, quality, attention to detail, and procedure.
- Pressure Handling: Ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- Learning and Development: Strong desire to learn and enthusiasm to develop new skills.
- Teamwork: A teamwork mentality to achieve results.
- Technical Knowledge: Sound technical knowledge.
