About the Position  

Reporting to the Field Maintenance Supervisor with the Mobile Maintenance team some of your responsibilities may include:

  • Preventative maintenance, repairs, and fault finding on Mobile fleet consisting of Liebherr 996 & 9400 excavators, Epiroc PV271 & D65 Surface Drill Rigs
  • Following specific maintenance programs and carrying out inspections on mobile fleet as required
  • Execute work orders as per schedule and to a high standard
  • Carrying out daily inspections on Fleet  
  • Completing inspections and repairs as per the maintenance strategies on the mobile fleet  
  • Identifying and rectifying faults during inspections 
  • Creating 1SAP notifications for repair on mobile fleet using the cat SIS program to identify part numbers
  • Scoping and creating 1SAP notifications for preventative work the mobile fleet
  • Working from OEM schematic drawings, manuals, and SIS 
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with rescheduling of work, organising and coordinating resources, scoping of work and determining priorities  
  • Undertake training on a regular basis and provide support and coaching to work mates

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification with sound diagnostic abilities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely in a team environment
  • Exposure to FIFO or shift work advantageous
  • Computer Literacy (SAP CAT SIS exposure advantageous but not essential)  
  • Valid Australian HR driver’s license essential
  • Experience working with Liebherr or Hitachi Diggers and Epiroc Drill Rigs - desired
  • Cummins engine experience advantageous
  • HR Drivers Licence
  • Dogman or Riggers Ticket

Location

You will be based at our Jimblebar mine site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, on a fly-in fly-out, 8 day on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off roster.   Our FIFO villages have a wide range of facilities and all rooms have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning to help you unwind, relax and sleep well.

 We know the more time you can spend at home the better, so in addition to our flights out of Perth, our Jimblebar and Newman operations are now offering those that live in WA’s beautiful South West region direct flights from Busselton. 

Jimblebar is an autonomous truck mine the first Greenfield mine in over 40 years to be both developed and operated by BHP Billiton Iron Ore. It is located 40kms North East of Newman, Western Australia.
