About the Role

Join our dynamic Mobile Maintenance team at Newman Operations, situated in the Pilbara Region on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people. 

Due to Capability Growth within the Workshop Team, we are now looking to employ additional Staff on a permanent basis.As a Heavy Diesel Fitter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our operations, working with both breakdown and planned maintenance teams. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a leading mining company while advancing your career in a supportive environment.

Your responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • Performing preventative and breakdown maintenance on heavy surface mining equipment.
  • Diagnosing faults and conducting repairs and servicing of diesel engines and components primarily on CAT 793F Trucks and CAT 785 Watercarts.
  • Supporting continuous improvement through procedure updates and root cause analysis.
  • Contributing to a safe and collaborative team environment.

About You 

  • Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter
  • Ability to commit to 8 days on, 6 days off, followed by 7 nights on, 7 nights off, with FIFO arrangements from Perth.
  • Prior exposure to mining or similar heavy industries is preferred.
  • Experience with Caterpillar equipment is desirable.
  • Experience in maintaining and diagnosing mobile equipment is highly regarded.
  • Team-focused, with a strong commitment to safety in the workplace.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
