  CSA Mine is looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join the team.  You will work in a team that is focused on safety, while driving to meet the plan.  You will work in one of the world’s most iconic mining districts, which has the second highest grade copper mine in the country. 

  About the role

• Trouble-shoot hydraulic system faults
• Maintain Jumbo’s (DD421’s) and/or Long Hole Drill Rigs (Atlas L6C)
• Maintain Underground Haul Trucks (Sandvik & Epiroc) and Loaders (Sandvik & Cat R2900)
• Maintain mobile fleet including an Epiroc Battery Electric Loader, Elphinstone WR810, CAT and Volvo IT’s, CAT 980’s, Normets and ISUZU trucks.
• Additional tasks as directed by the Supervisor
• 7/7 residential or DIDO position provided with remote living benefits, including subsidised accommodation.

The successful applicant will have:

• Current manual Australian Driver’s Licence
• A trade qualification in Mobile Plant and/or Heavy Diesel Mechanical
• Completing heavy diesel apprentices (3rd year and above) encouraged to apply
• Previous exposure to the underground environment
• Self-motivated individual with a high level of initiative
• Good organisational and planning skills
• Strong focus on accuracy, attention to detail and quality standards

  Location

Located an eight-hour drive to Sydney, nine-hour drive to Melbourne, and a quick three-hour drive to Dubbo, Cobar is a fascinating town rich in mining heritage and natural attractions.  Entertainment options include restaurants, pubs, and clubs for dining out.  You will be kept busy with a bowling and golf club, rugby and rugby league teams, race club, pony club, Olympic size swimming pool, gym – and more!  The town boasts beautiful parks, two reservoirs, picnic areas and playgrounds. The youth club Youthie is a vibrant children’s hub with a games room, gym and weights room, squash courts, sauna, indoor stadium, outdoor basketball court and a skate park.
