Heavy Diesel Plant Mechanic (Workshop)

Force Equipment is seeking experienced and qualified HD Mechanics for an immediate start in our Mackay Component Rebuild Division. Working in our 1st class facility, the successful applicants will be experienced in the rebuild of Caterpillar powertrain components. Your duties will include the rebuild and repair of Caterpillar components for the Emeco rental fleet and external supply.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Rebuild of Caterpillar Powertrain Components
  • Use and maintain workplace tools and equipment
  • Quality Control
  • Compiling Reports for Internal and External Viewing
  • Managing jobs and supporting a small team in achieving daily targets
  • Ensuring all maintenance repairs are performed in accordance with company guidelines and within cost targets
  • Providing support to the Emeco rental fleet as required
  • Working with Emeco/Force customers to meet company objectives

Required skills / experience & attributes:

  • Trade Qualified HD Fitters/Mechanics (nationally recognised)
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Forklift licence desired
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong focus on Safety & Quality
  • Attention to detail
  • Good time keeping and job recording skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Significant post trade experience with heavy earth moving equipment, specialising in Caterpillar (highly desirable)
  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team
  • High Risk Work Licence with Dogging, Rigging, Crane, EWP and Working at Heights classifications will be highly regarded
