Fixed Plant Electrician - Dayshift Team

Work Location: Hedland Operations - Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

Roster: 8D/6R - Residential role based in Hedland. Relocation offered. 

Fortescue are seeking an Advanced/Experienced Electrician on our dayshift team to work within our Process Plant at Hedland Operations. This role is a permanent full-time residential role. You will provide safe, effective and timely electrical maintenance to our equipment and ancillaries to optimise plant operational capacity.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Raising notifications and executing work orders (S4Hannah / Fiori)
  • Preventative/Opportune/Shutdown maintenance on Fixed Plant
  • Creation and modifications to documents including Work Instructions, Routine Checklists, and Electrical Schematic's 
  • Electrical statutory testing, inspections, and data entry
  • High Voltage switching (and writing of switching programs)
  • Scoping continuous safety and business improvement opportunities

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Current Energy Safety WA issued electrician’s licence
  • High voltage switching operator certificate
  • Previous experience as electrical trades person or Electrical / Instrumentation Technician in a continuous operating plant environment
  • Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of Variable Speed Drives
  • Competent understanding of electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systems
  • Experience with Train Unloaders and balance machines
  • Certificate 4 in electrical instrumentation (Desirable)
  • Experience as a team leader or 2IC (Desirable)
