Hedland Operations (Port & Rail): Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

Roster:

8/6 DS only – FIFO (Tuesday) 

Based at the Herb Elliott Port Facility (Anderson Point), the gatehouse security officer role is to maintain safe and lawful entry to site whilst restricting access to personnel and equipment not permitted onsite. Being the first point of contact for visitors to site, the ideal candidate would be someone who demonstrates professionalism, integrity, diligence with the ability to work autonomously. Reporting to the Emergency Services Supervisor, the successful candidate will be an integral team member of the Health and Safety Team and across the Port and Rail operations.  

The role is well suited to individuals who value the health and safety of their working family, visitors and the community.

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Maintain safe and lawful access to Fortescue Port and Rail operations 
  • Restrict access to site to any personnel not authorized by monitoring entry at the main gatehouse to Herb Elliott Port
  • Conduct Fitness For Work testing including AOD testing
  • Maintain site entry register
  • Conduct searches of vehicles and personal belongings as required
  • Ensure Site vehicle escort procedures are followed at all times
  • Conduct Vehicle Compliance Inspections as required
  • Monitoring site radio communications and taking Emergency calls when required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Certificate Il in Security Operations
  • National Police clearance
  • Senior First Aid (Desirable)
  • Western Australian "C" Drivers License
  • Collect Pathology Specimens Other Than Blood (Approved Drug Screening Officer) or equivalent
