Heritage Manager – Project Development
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster: Monday - Friday
A newly created role within our Cultural Heritage team, the Heritage Manager – Project Development will oversee the obtaining of Heritage information in the field, archaeological and ethnographic surveys and other collection of Cultural Heritage information for FMG and FFI projects across Australia.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Field data collection for all planned activities by Fortescue in Australia (including FFI and non-ferrous minerals)
- Delivery of field data to support the Approvals (Management Plan) schedule
- Ongoing maintenance of the relationship between Fortescue and its Native Title Partners
- Ensure the safety of field personnel, consultants and TO participants in the field
- Provision of Cultural Heritage field guidance to the business as required and appropriate (e.g. logistical planning information)
- Escalation of field data collection delays or delays to non-ferrous Management Plans for action as appropriate
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Archeology, Anthropology or related field with experience in Cultural Heritage would be highly regarded
- 15+ years heritage field experience, with a minimum 5 years in the mining environment
- Knowledge of relevant WA and Commonwealth legislation relating to Occupational Health and Safety, and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage
- Detailed knowledge of the Pilbara Cultural Heritage Landscape
- Previous experience mentoring a team
