About the role
Reporting to the Superintendent Heritage Fieldwork we are looking for a Heritage Liaison Advisor to facilitate and ensure the safe conduct of Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s cultural heritage survey program.
This role is a great opportunity for a passionate professional who love enjoys working in the field, has solid leadership and stakeholder management skills and able to bring all the pieces of the project together. Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Contractor management for Rio Tinto’s heritage team survey program.
- Developing and maintaining favourable relationships with internal and external stakeholders through strong engagement and communication
- Delivering in-field survey works
- Preparing, managing and implementing project emergency response plans and journey management plans.
- Supervise heritage field survey teams (contractors & visitors) in line with RT safety systems and processes enabling delivery against the infield survey schedule.
- Maintaining cultural heritage fieldwork equipment, assets, and fleet
- Supporting social surrounds, ethnographic, botanical, and other environmental survey works with Traditional Owner group involvement
- Coaching survey participants according to Rio Tinto HSEC and CRM procedures
- Undertaking critical risk management as a team leader.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Experience working in a leadership role with good field safety knowledge and a passion for working in aboriginal communities.
- Capable to travel (up to 10 days at a time), work in the field, in the heat and undertake physically demanding tasks.
- Experience bringing stakeholders together to deliver on projects with excellent engagement and influencing skills.
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Senior First Aid Certificate, 4WD accreditation and GIS/Navigation skills.
