High Voltage Electrician

Chichester Hub

Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

Roster:

8D8R - FIFO Perth, Busselton, Port Hedland or Karratha

Reporting to the HV Electrical Supervisor, this role is responsible for energizing/deenergizing HV power supply and all relevant statutory testing and inspections.

Key responsibilities include:

• Alignment to Fortescue values, with a strong focus on safety.
• Operation and maintenance of High Voltage equipment, including but not limited to Mining Machinery (Excavators), Power lines, transformers, ABS, Circuit Breakers.
• High Voltage power line work.
• Routine electrical maintenance completed in the plant.
• Emergency electrical breakdown and repair process.
• Be able to demonstrate awareness and safety requirements to access areas.

Education and Experience:

• Electrical trade qualification.
• High Voltage Switching Ticket.
• Current WA 'A' class electrical workers licence.
• Previous experience as High Voltage Electrician or HV Operator.
• A demonstrated commitment to Safety and Safe working.
• A good ability to problem solve and make decisions.
• Willingness to learn, develop and become part of an effective team.
• A current Drivers licence (HR Preferred)
