About the role
We're seeking a HR Adviser for a full time opportunity based at our Gove site in the Northern Territory.
As a HR Adviser, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive human resource support to leaders and employees within our organisation. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the fair and consistent application of Human Resources (HR) policies, procedures, and processes, while also offering guidance to enhance people effectiveness and employee engagement within Rio Tinto.
The work is designed to significantly enhance morale, productivity, and overall employee satisfaction.
Reporting to the Human Resources Team Lead, you will:
Build and foster strong partnerships with portfolio stakeholders and shared service partners to enhance collaboration and trust.
Advise and coach leaders on employee relations matters, with a focus on early intervention and people-centric approaches to boost engagement.
Support leaders with case management, ensuring that a procedurally fair process is conducted, in line with Company policies and procedures.
Contribute to HR projects and initiatives that drive employee involvement and commitment.
Build leader capability in HR systems and processes to ensure leaders are equipped to engage their teams effectively.
Demonstrate commitment and understanding of business needs as a trusted partner, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose among employees.
Exhibit depth in critical thinking, prioritisation, and problem-solving to address employee concerns and enhance engagement.
Navigate competing priorities effectively to maintain focus on employee engagement and satisfaction.
What you’ll bring
Strong Human Resources generalist background, ideally with experience in mining or industrial environments.
A solid understanding and ability to interpret, advise and coach leaders on the Fair Work Legislation requirements.
Experience with case management and advising leaders on managing employee relations risks.
Be a natural communicator with stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence whilst providing guidance and support to leaders and employees on a range of HR matters.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organisation and possess strong coaching and influencing abilities.
Have a knack for attention to detail and proficiency in HR systems, ideally Workday, and are advanced users of the MS Office Suite.
Proven experience in leader coaching and the ability to facilitate leader upskilling programs.

Where you’ll be working
This role will be based at our Gove site in the Northern Territory.
The successful candidate is able to live residentially in Gove, with relocation support provided.
FIFO will also be considered for this role from either Cairns or Darwin
