About the role
Due to Internal movements in the team, we are looking for a seasoned HR Advisor to support our Weipa Operations.
As a HR Advisor, you will be a visible and trusted HR support embedded on site, working closely with operational leaders and frontline teams, playing a key role in influencing culture, safety, and performance by turning business priorities into clear, people‑focused solutions. Your impact will be felt every day — helping create engaged, inclusive, and high‑performing teams in a fast‑paced operational environment.
You’ll support a site‑based HR team, providing guidance through complex people matters, building leadership capability, and ensuring employees feel supported at critical moments.
Supported by the wider HR team, you’ll oversee the delivery of end-to-end HR service, including employee relations and case management, recruitment, talent and performance processes, pensions and benefits, compensation, and recurring cyclical HR activities.
Being embedded in our operations will expand depth of knowledge you will possess and open up a variety of pathways within our People experience function.
Reporting to the HR Team lead and working in a collaborative environment, you will:
Build and sustain strong partnerships with key stakeholders,
Execute the HR Functions strategy, coordinating effectively with local, regional, and global teams to ensure consistent and aligned delivery of HR services.
Drive continuous improvement across site HR processes, identifying opportunities to simplify and streamline ways of working; analyse data trends, generate insights, and recommend actions to enhance service delivery and business outcomes.
Provide expert support on employee relations matters, including case management, investigations, grievances, and complaints, in alignment with the broader employee relations strategy.
Deliver HR reporting and people metrics, proactively identifying and escalating emerging risks and themes; leverage data driven insights to inform problem solving, decision making, and the development of targeted, preventative strategies.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Proven experience in human resources with a comprehensive knowledge of generalist HR activities.
Demonstrated extensive experience in complex workplace investigations and advising on performance management practices.
Resilience and the ability to thrive in a continuous improvement culture and have a strong commitment to team-based processes and outcomes.
Experience leading process improvement initiatives, and projects to support in streamlining and improving the way we work every day.
Capacity and versatility to operate in a large and dynamic organisation which involves delivering business objectives remotely and across a diverse workforce.
Excellent interpersonal influencing, coaching, communication, negotiation, and consultation skills to support you in leading your team and working with stakeholders.

Where you’ll be working
Our Weipa operations in Far North Queensland includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, shiploaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals. Amrun, our newest mine, was completed in 2018 and will extend our Weipa bauxite operations by decades, significantly building on our 55-year history on the Western Cape, and providing jobs and supporting business growth in the region. The mine is located on traditional land. We work closely with the Traditional Owners to implement our agreements, ensuring that the benefits generated from mining support future generations and that important cultural heritage sites are identified and preserved.
