Illawarra Metallurgical Coal (IMC) produces premium-quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a permanent full-time position based at the Dendrobium mine, which is near the coastal city of Wollongong, NSW and approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Sydney.
As the HR Business Partner, you will support the HR Lead and partner with the site Leadership Team as well as Superintendents and Supervisors to challenge decisions that improve performance.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Coach leaders to manage and take full accountability for people decisions effectively and consistently.
- Provide guidance and advise on all aspects of human resources, including conducting investigations, managing performance management, and supporting development.
- Facilitate effective workforce planning to identify the capacity and capability of the operation to deliver its objectives.
- Provide high quality industrial and employee relations advice and services, managing and resolving issues as they arise.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Experience in industrial/employee relations matters ideally within Mining or Heavy industry.
- Experience working in a similar role within an operational environment.
- Strong communication and risk management skills to inform key decisions for the business.
- Ability to effectively challenge people, situations and perspectives.
- Able to provide strategic advice, develop options, analyse risks, make good judgements, and solve problems.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Relevant degree or appropriate experience (preferable in HR/IR, Organisational Behaviour, Change Management)
