About the role 

Fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated HR Business Partner to join our charming yet hardworking team at our Groote Eylandt operation on a permanent basis.

As a key member of the Human Resources team and reporting to the HR Manager, you will provide strategic support to business leaders in making good people decisions across the employee lifecycle. This includes building strong teams and driving the South32 culture.

Some of your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide advice to employees and leaders on all aspects of the employee lifecycle
  • Help leaders with the interpretation of internal policies, procedures and Enterprise Agreement
  • Review trends and metrics to develop solutions to local issues in partnership with the operation
  • Drive workforce planning and talent management processes within your area of responsibility
  • Develop reports on HR performance indicators to promote and achieve business objectives
  • Recommend and lead new initiatives that align with the organisation’s people strategy

To excel in this role, you'll need to be a true HR professional with a passion for driving results.

To be considered for the role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in HR or related discipline
  • Experience working with Enterprise Agreements and applying Australian legislation across HR work practices
  • Proven ability and background working on a range of employment/industrial relations issues
  • Well-developed HR generalist skills in an Award based environment
  • Ability to constructively challenge decisions which are not in the best interest of the organisation
  • HRIS systems – experience with SAP HR & SuccessFactors (highly desirable)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
