Open Cut Human Resources Superintendent

Based on site at Moolarben Coal Operations and reporting to the HR Manager, you will lead the HR Function at our Open-cut Operations. Working closely with the management team you will play an integral role in improving the effectiveness of site operations and build a high-performance culture.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Understand the prevailing workplace culture and develop and implement strategies to ensure the OC culture is aligned to Yancoal Values.
  • Provide advice and strategic guidance on conditions of employment and industrial relations.
  • Working with the HR team to ensure consistency across sites
  • Provide advice to line managers in performance management, disciplinary procedures, and grievance resolution.
  • Providing HR coaching, advice, policy and procedure interpretation to managers and employees.
  • Coaching site-based employees and managers though the annual performance review process.
  • HR data management of reporting, surveys, salary review data.
  • Lead and support HR retention and workforce engagement projects.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in Human Resources– mining or industrial experience preferred
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate and influence leaders.
  • Well organised and confident in handling a substantial workload and competing priorities
