About the Role:
We are seeking applications from experienced Safety Advisors to join our team. This role reports directly to the site Project Manager or Alternate and functionally to the HSE Superintendent and Manager HSE.
Key Accountabilities:
- You will support the Project Manager/Alternate and site leadership in implementation of Barminco safety systems and initiatives to improve safety performance.
- Engage with operational and non-operational employees and contractors with good, demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, influencing skills and including consultation.
- Conduct, manage and report on all HSE incident investigations.
- Develop and distribute weekly/monthly HSE reports, presentations and HSE topic.
- Conduct regular and scheduled audits of HSE&T systems, programs and site locations work environments.
- Maintaining of records, reports and documents required to meet corporate, site and regulatory requirements.
- Undertake risk assessments.
- Direct communications between injured employees, their management and medical providers to ensure that all parties are aware of rights, responsibilities and recovery plans.
- Provide on-site Inductions ensuring all employees and contractors are site compliant and competent to perform the required tasks/roles.
- Maintenance and facilitation of critical registers.
- Conduct regular and scheduled workplace inspections across various locations across various sites.
- Be proactive in the field identifying hazards and risk in the workplace.
- Attend and provide input to the regular operations meetings.
- Review and realignment of company and site procedures/safe work practices as necessary.
- Responsible for the accuracy of information being entered into company database.
Key Requirements
- Tertiary health and safety qualifications or a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an OHS practitioner in the mining industry.
- Current "C" Class Western Australian driver's license.
- Authorised drug collection officer qualification.
- Cert IV Training and Assessment qualification.
- Ability to pass a National Police Check.
