The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the HSE Manager will be responsible for managing and driving change on site across the health, safety, environment, training and site security functions. With an experienced and dedicated team to lead, this role requires a motivated and passionate HSET professional who wants to affect change in an organisation.
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to innovation and a drive to implement contemporary HSE practices. As a collaborative and consultative leader, you will have ability to leverage interpersonal relationships across site to deliver required business outcomes.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and foster a culture of HSE best practice across the operation
- Analyse operational health and safety performance and practically apply solutions to reduce risk
- Build and execute HSET strategic and operational plans
- Undertake the planning, organisation and execution of the sites external and internal regulatory audits
- Manage and guide the development and maintenance of HSET policies, organisational procedures and operating standards
- Scope and execute critical technology projects e.g. site access system and learning management system
- Lead the ‘ground up’ build of the technical training function and online training capability
- Degree qualified in Work, Health and Safety, Risk Management or equivalent discipline is desirable
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leading HSE teams in heavy industry
- Proven organisational leadership in the key areas of risk management, incident investigation and safety leadership
- Strong technology background implementing site access and learning management systems as well as digital incident reporting and management
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead operational excellence and continuous improvement projects and activities
