Key Responsibilities Include

  • Ensure that HSE standards and directives are up to date and actively followed.
  • Interact and meet with Key Leaders and stakeholders in the region ensuring that HSE activities align with the needs of the business
  • Ensure that KPI’s for HSE activities are regularly reviewed and clearly understood by the business
  • Develop scheduling to provide coverage and attendance on a frequent basis across the business
  • Meet with and align with other Regional HSE managers on a weekly basis to ensure that there is standardisation across the business
  • Affectively facilitate Incident Investigations ensuring a HSE presence is available wherever possible
  • Review and maintain documentation relative to the HSEMP
  • Introduce programs, inspections and activities that Risk Assess work activities and introduce controls where possible that are Elimination, Substitution or Engineering based
  • Introduce programs and training courses that support the development of personnel regarding HSE practices including cultural and behavioural based programs
  • Modify and interpret reporting and present on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Practical experience assessing and managing work activities based on Risk
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively across all layers of an organisation and with any stakeholder group
  • High level organisational and communication skills including effective negotiation with stakeholders and knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of relevant state mining and National Safety Legislation including key applicable ISO certifications
  • Understanding of medical requirements and how these can be applied to medial review in accordance with work activities and customer requirements,
  • Experience supporting maintenance and use of heavy mobile equipment frequently used in the mining industry
  • Able to apply business, financial and technical strategic thinking concepts
  • Strong leader with the ability to mentor, coach and delegate tasks
  • Ability to develop presentations and present to a group or a work place

Educational and Technical Qualifications:

  • Drivers Licence
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
  • Diploma of Work Health and Safety (Preferred)
  • ICAM Lead Investigator Training
  • Cert IV Business (Leadership) (Preferred)
  • Cert IV Training and Assessing TAE40116 (Preferred)
  • Formal Certification in Auditing (Preferred)
