About the Role

We are currently seeking a HSE Superintendent within the Olympic Dam HSE Team, supporting the Oak Dam Project. Reporting to the Head of HSE and working closely with the Oak Dam Project Director, this is a unique opportunity to further develop and apply your HSE leadership skills and experience within an early stage mining environment.

This role is required to coordinate in-depth HSE functional expertise for Olympic Dam to successfully progress the Oak Dam. Key to this role will be stakeholder engagement across functional and project teams.  

The role will be Adelaide or Roxby Downs-based working a 5/2 roster with frequent travel to site.  Those in pursuit of flexible work arrangements are encouraged to apply.

In this role you will:

  • Provide leadership for a team of high performing and capable HSE professionals (direct and indirect reports) providing support to the Oak Dam project, and be an active contributor to the HSE Leadership team across Olympic Dam
  • Be the key interface between Olympic Dam HSE Team and the Oak Dam Project Team
  • Contribute the ongoing development of excellent team culture
  • Build capability within the operational leaders to enable them to create the desired health, safety and environment culture, and enact their HSE risk management and compliance requirements
  • Identify, prioritise and implement required HSE strategies and initiates to support successful operational outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with other HSE teams to improve HSE delivery and risk management across the Asset

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven passion for safety and a culture of care. You will also have:

  • Passion for creating an engaging, supportive & inspiring culture;
  • Demonstrated commitment to achieving proactive HSE outcomes and reliably deliver team results and meet deadlines;
  • Formal qualifications and/or equivalent experience in HSE or related discipline such as science, engineering or business;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to influence at multiple levels in HSE and Project Teams, with both internal and external parties;
  • A proven ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans;
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Experience in project/program management
