The Greenbushes Project is located in the picturesque South West region of Western Australia in the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes. Our client, Talison Lithium, is the world’s leading lithium minerals concentrate provider and the Greenbushes project is recognised as containing the world’s highest grade and largest hard rock deposit of the lithium mineral spodumene. Macmahon is pleased to deliver surface mining operations at the project from 01 July 2023.

Macmahon is seeking expressions of interest for an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join the Greenbushes team on a Drive-In-Drive-Out (DIDO) basis on an 8:6 roster. 

Role responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•    Ensuring effective implementation and compliance to the systems and processes outlined in the HSEQ Management Plan
•    Provide HSEQ Management Systems mentoring and guidance to site management 
•    Liaising with our clients in relation to WHS activities and site-based lead and lag indicators
•    Assisting with accident / incident investigations as required
•    Facilitating risk assessments to support operations and their ability to control and reduce risks across our activities
•    Maintaining and reviewing site corrective action and hazard reporting processes
•    Completing site inspections and audits in line with the group annual safety planner and site-based activity planners
•    Completing safety reporting and the daily inputs into the company’s event management system
•    Sourcing and distribution of safety and health awareness information to site information boards
•    Assisting supervision with the injury management and return to work processes; and 
•    Monitoring the mental health of our people and referring them to the EAP services as needed

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required:   
•    Certificate IV or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety 
•    Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE40116 (ideal)
•    ICAM Certificate (ideal)
•    Great interpersonal and communication skills
•    Demonstrating commitment to Macmahon safety culture and values
•    Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with people at all levels
•    Previous experience in a similar role (surface mining operations & maintenance)
•    Working knowledge of the Mines Safety Inspection Act (WA)
