We are currently recruiting for an experienced Advisor – HSEQ & Training to join the team at our Deflector Project.
The Deflector Gold Copper Mine is in the southern Murchison region of WA, 450km north of Perth and 160km east of the Western Australian regional city of Geraldton. Deflector Gold Copper Project is made up of two underground mines: Deflector and Deflector South-West. They are both shallow narrow veined, high-grade gold and copper underground mines.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Provide a high level of HSEQ support and advice to the operational departments of the site.
- Assist with the overall implementation of HSEQ systems, strategies & initiatives.
- Provide facilitation, assistance, and guidance in incident investigations, HSE meetings, HSEQ inspections of equipment and work practices on the site.
- Coordinate and execute training and assessment in accordance with Macmahon training standards and site-specific training plan.
- Maintain training records to ensure accuracy, currency, and confidentiality.
- Assist in maintaining the HSEQ and training management systems on site.
- Ensure compliance with WHS regulations along with company policies and procedures.
- HSEQ and training administration, accurate data entry and record keeping.
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Certificate IV WHS
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role within an Underground environment
- Extensive knowledge of underground operations
- Strong organisation and computer literacy
- Working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in HSEQ management systems such as INCONTROL (Desirable)
- Qualification in incident investigation such as ICAM
- A ‘can do’ attitude with a strong desire to succeed in the role and a passion for HSEQ and Training.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and engagement skills
