HSEQ Superintendent - Underground

Macmahon is seeking an experienced HSEQ Superintendent to support our underground team and provide strong leadership in safety, environment and quality performance. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive safety professional who thrives in dynamic operational environments and enjoys building capability across teams.
 
 
About the Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead HSEQ functions onsite and partner closely with operational leaders to ensure compliance, manage critical risks, and influence positive safety culture.

✔ 4/3 FIFO
✔ 4/3, 8/6 FIFO

Key responsibilities include:
•    Provide expert HSEQ guidance to the Project Manager and project personnel.
•    Ensure compliance with legislation, Standards, and company expectations.
•    Monitor HSEQ performance, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
•    Conduct audits, inspections and verifications, ensuring timely close out of actions.
•    Facilitate incident and event investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
•    Deliver engaging training programs to build capability across site teams.
•    Produce accurate, timely HSEQ reporting for site and corporate leadership.
•    Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
 
About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical capability and confident leadership across safety and operational environments.
We are looking for:
•    Experience in HSEQ Superintendent or supervisory roles within mining or heavy industry.
•    Diploma in Work Health and Safety or equivalent
•    Cert IV in Training and Assessing
•    Strong coaching, mentoring and capability building skills.
•    Proven ability to plan, prioritise and manage workloads in a busy operational setting.
•    Experience with Integrated Management Systems and risk management tools.
•    Solid understanding of critical risks and principal mining hazard identification.
•    Experience in leading and facilitating ICAM investigations
•    Proficiency with HSEQ reporting systems and data analysis software.
