Emeco is seeking a HSET Advisor to join our growing team supporting the site operations in the Goldfields mining region.
This is an integral position supporting the Maintenance Superintendent at a site level based on a 8/6 roster FIFO ex Perth
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with energy, drive and ability to work autonomously with exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
About the role
- Educate and embed the organisational policies, processes, systems, and procedures in support of the national HSET strategy and Emeco Safety Health and Environment Management System
- Provide regular analysis and reporting of metrics to the business to communicate progress against HSE plans and key objectives.
- Lead incident investigations with site management to ensure root causes and corrective actions are identified, compile investigation reports, and ensure corrective actions are communicated and support their implementation within the agreed time frame. Coaching managers in ICAM methodology.
- Monitor and manage the event management system – Viking (MYOSH) to your delegated authority level accurately and in a timely manner as per ESHMS-12 – PRO-001 Incident Report and Investigation Procedure
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits and monitor compliance.
- Ensure all non-conformances or improvement opportunities identified in audits are reviewed and appropriate actions implemented within agreed time frame.
- Develop, review, update, and delivery of training packages including assessment and recommendations of development needs.
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships, through consultation and engagement, with regional managers.
- Develop, coordinate and deliver HSE training programs to the workforce and management including HSE, site inductions and any other required site-based training.
- Review and maintain documentation relative to the HSEMP.
- Introduce programs, inspections and activities that Risk Assess work activities and introduce controls where possible that are Elimination, Substitution or Engineering based.
- Actively promote a HS&E culture that shall mitigate the risk of injury to themselves and other personnel, damage to plant, equipment and environmental aspects of the operations.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of current legislative requirements and ensure these requirements are applied effectively in the workplace.
- Actively facilitate and participate in toolbox and pre-start meetings across sites and ensure records are maintained.
About you
- Cert IV or Diploma in Health & Safety
- Cert IV in Training & Assessment;
- Certification in workplace auditing (preferred)
- Certification in incident investigation (ICAM)
- Prior experience in similar role (Mining Mobile equipment exposure Preferable)
