HSEQT Manager - Greenbushes

The Greenbushes project is in the picturesque Southwest region of Western Australia in the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes. Our client, Talison Lithium, is the world's leading lithium minerals concentrate provider and the Greenbushes project is recognised as containing the world's highest grade and largest hard rock deposit of the lithium mineral spodumene. Macmahon will deliver surface mining operations at the project from July 2023. We are passionate about connecting and caring for the communities and seek a HSEQT Manager with the same passion to join the team on a residential or Drive-In-Drive-Out basis. 

Job Responsibilities

Health, Safety, Environment and Training
•    Provide leadership and direction to the site HSEQT department 
•    Ensure systems are in place to protect the personal health and safety of all workers on site
•    Lead the implementation of HSEQT systems, strategies, and initiatives to effectively contribute towards the overall corporate objectives
•    Leading the delivery of all operational training requirements across the project, ensuring site personnel can perform their roles in accordance with Macmahon procedures and industry standards
•    Conduct incident management investigation and reviews
•    Advise and provide recommendations for improvement opportunities and contribute to the implementation 
•    Inspect workplaces, looking for any violations of federal, state, and local health and safety regulations

Technical/Operational
•    Monitor, analyse and audit performance, systems, and processes 
•    Analyse incident trends and provide advice to site leadership 
•    Review and provide guidance on project HSEQ plans, objectives, and targets
•    Manage the sites emergency preparedness, response systems and processes
•    Monitor the daily, weekly, monthly reports and provide monthly HSEQT reports within required timeframes

Commercial/Financial
•    Display comprehensive knowledge of contractual KPI’s and take necessary actions to ensure agreed targets are met

People Management
•    Support, coach and develop HSEQ professionals on site
•    Support and coach line management to develop HSEQ skills and competence

Team Contribution
•    Liaise directly with client counterparts and foster confidence in and effective utilisation of Macmahon’s HSEQT Management System
•    Engage and support the workers compensation representative 
•    Contribute towards the development of strategies, objectives, and targets to improve health, safety, environmental and quality performance
•    Assist with the preparation of HSEQT related submissions for tenders and expressions of interest as required
•    Assist with the planning, implementation, and review of third-party certification audits
