HSE&T Superintendent

Barminco are seeking applications from suitably skilled and experienced HSE&T Superintendents to join our Savannah Underground Operations in Western Australia.

About the Role

Partnering with the Project Managers and the existing site HSE&T Team to provide support to improve the understanding of the nature of risks now and as they change, and facilitate action to improve the safety and wellbeing of people and continually improve HSE performance.

The role will provide direct leadership, coaching and support to the site HSE&T professionals as well as Project Managers, in the execution of Perenti Contract Mining’s HSE&T systems, strategies and initiatives. 

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience working within the Underground mining industry plus minimum of 5 years experience in a HSE role, including time spent in a site based senior HSE role;
• Substantial understanding and working knowledge of Australian OHS legislation and industry standards;
• Provide direct functional leadership and support to HSE&T professionals at our Savannah Operations;
• Actively participate in the performance management and development of HSE&T personnel;
• Facilitate and assist with collating and reporting safety performance data, and incident investigations;
• Strong understanding and capability in hazard identification, risk assessments and controls;
• Auditing qualifications (desirable);
• Training and Assessing and ICAM Incident Investigation (highly regarded);
• Tertiary health and safety qualifications or a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
• Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite
