Ashton - Owned by Yancoal, Ashton is an underground mine and coal handling preparation plant located in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of NSW.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
We are seeking a passionate Health, Safety and Training Officer to join our HST Team at Ashton Coal Operation. This role reports directly to the HST Advisor and will be a key person in supporting and driving safety initiatives onsite.
Some key duties and tasks will include;
- Assist in the development and maintenance of health and safety standards with clear and measurable objectives
- Assist in the coordination of internal and external audit activities
- Take ownership and accountability of the safety management system, ensuring compliance
Skills and Experience
- Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (minimum)
- Minimum 2 years experience in the mining industry
- Experience using safety management systems such as Pegasus
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
