Job Tasks and Responsibilities

We are seeking Expressions of Interest for a Health, Safety & Training Superintendent to be based at the Underground operation. Reporting to the HST Manager, this role provides expert health, safety and training advice to the MCO leadership team and leads the site HST function to support safe, compliant and high-performing operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the Underground Health, Safety & Training function in line with site systems and governance

  • Provide proactive health and safety advice and coaching to the MCO leadership team

  • Drive continuous improvement in OH&S initiatives and safety performance

  • Support and participate in site risk management systems, strategies and investigations

  • Ensure compliance with statutory, company and site health, safety and training requirements

  • Effectively manage HST resources to meet operational priorities and performance targets

Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Certificate IV in Work, Health & Safety
  • Certificate IV in training & assessment
  • Experience in Health, Safety or Training roles - Mining or Heavy Industry preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate and influence leaders
  • Well organised and confident in handling a substantial workload and competing priorities
  • Driver’s license

Desirable Criteria:

  • Diploma or Tertiary qualifications in WH&S and/or Training
  • Experience in Risk assessment
  • Experience in Incident Investigation
  • Supervisor qualifications
  • Asset Management Experience
