We are looking for a Human Resource Manager to lead the Aluminium People Experience team, of ~15 capable HR professionals across six assets. With leaders we deliver People activities to the Aluminium operations across the East Coast of Australia, New Zealand, Nothern Territory, and Tasmania.

This role is a great opportunity for someone who can build strong relationships with senior leaders and leadership teams to position the need for change in relation to business objectives, and provide support to deliver, manage, and sustain the change. For our own team, we’re looking for someone who has a passion for developing people, is a true collaborator, a trusted advisor and HR innovator. Reporting to the Senior Manager HR Operational Delivery and working in a diverse matrix team you will:
- Partner with the business and broader HR community to identify and prioritise people initiatives that support the Aluminium business strategy
- Have the ability to translate business strategy into HR operational priorities and provide leadership to the HR operations team balancing busy workloads and complex stakeholder relationships
- Influence and implement change through effective stakeholder management at all levels in a complex, networked/matrix global organization across multiple countries and cultures, including, with stakeholders in payroll, business conduct office, and talent acquisition
- Lead or participate in multiple cross-functional initiatives that deliver improved employee experience, productivity, culture and service delivery excellence
- Identify and drive business improvement initiatives that enable improved operational and business outcomes
- Provide knowledge and experience to the team on their key areas of responsibility which includes employee relations matters, building leader capability in HR systems and processes including cyclical processes, facilitating organisational change and leading HR projects
What you’ll bring

- A proven track record in delivering results – a can do attitude, willingness to roll up the sleeves and be highly organized
- Proven experience in human resources with a comprehensive knowledge of generalist HR activities
- Demonstrated understanding of Australian Employment Law framework and best practice application of relevant legislation
- Pragmatic and curious problem solver with the ability to design and implement simple, executable solutions
- Capacity and versatility to operate in a large organisation which involves delivering business objectives remotely and across a diverse workforce
- Resilience and the ability to thrive in a continuous improvement culture and have a strong commitment to team-based processes and outcomes
- Ability to think strategically and commercially, approach solutions creatively and consider organisation-wide impacts
- Flexibility to work across time zones and hold a high level of integrity, confidentiality and credibility
- Excellent interpersonal skills including influencing, coaching, building respectful relationships, communication, negotiation and consultation skills along with managing your time to deliver priorities
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Applicable tertiary qualification
- Demonstrated experience within a large organisation and/or mining/heavy industry/manufacturing sector
