About the role: We are currently seeking an Shift High Voltage Electrician at our Coppabella mine. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of three (3) open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the scope of the role is to be responsible for all execution and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and adherence to safe and efficient work practices at Coppabella Mine. Additionally, this role assists the open cut complex services as it relates to electrical maintenance and projects.
Duties will include:
- Compliance with site Safety and Health Management system requirements (including risk management, SOP’s, permits, work instructions etc.).
- Prioritise and undertake specified and/or general work to the required standard and within timeframes
- Maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment.
- Minimise production downtime.
- Participate in shift change, site meetings, communications or reporting requirements to the required standard.
- Actively engage in the in the Peabody Continuous Improvement Program.
The lifestyle: This position is offered on a 7/7 Day/Night roster allowing for a residential, DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.
About you:
The successful candidate will hold a QLD Electrical Licence and have experience in an open cut mining maintenance environment. You will also have:
- Previous experience working on mobile equipment including but not limited to, Draglines, Komatsu Electric rope shovels, Liebherr T282, Komatsu 830E and Unit Rig MT4400 electric drive trucks.
- Experience with defect inspections, SAP work management systems.
- A Continuous Improvement commitment and positive attitude towards change.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety procedures and disciplines.
- High Voltage switching competencies.
- PLC and SCADA Control system experience.
- Current LVR/CPR competency (within the last 12 Months).
- Ability to read and interpret Electrical Schematics.
- EWP and Working at Heights desirable.
- 3yrs HME experience.
- Motivated and hard working with a professional attitude.
