HV TRANSMISSION SUPERVISOR

At Fortescue, we are in the process of transforming our energy assets to achieve our climate change targets of zero emissions by 2030. The Energy Operations assets are expanding which provides many opportunities to learn, grow and do more than you thought was possible with a transmission & distribution network, camp and mine site backup power stations, large scale battery energy storage system and solar farm currently in construction in the area. You will be a key member of the Energy Operations HV Transmission team in providing power to Iron Bridge mine via a 220kV transmission line which will extend to Port Hedland port operations in future.

Key responsibilities include:

• Accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient operational performance and maintenance of this important asset.
• Supervision, direction and training of the High Voltage team members and contractors.
• Commitment to encourage and support a culture of safety and continuous improvement practices.
• Work with the planning team to ensure all maintenance activities are resourced appropriately and scheduled in accordance with the embedded maintenance strategies and operational requirements.
• Proficient with SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification.
• Provide operational and maintenance support to the Energy Operations department as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant Australian recognised Trade Certification - Electrical Workers License
• High Voltage Switching certificate and relevant network switching experience
• Absolute commitment to safety
• Experience with all aspects of HV distribution and transmission systems. Experience in large scale transmission networks and operation of Siemens GIS switchgear would be an advantage.  
• Supervising experience within a HV distribution/ transmission team is desirable.
• Flexibility in operation and ability to lead a team
• Organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
• Self-motivated individual with written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in computer-based maintenance systems - SAP
• EWP and working at heights qualification is desirable
