Data Analyst – Hydrogeology Drilling
Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday (Ad-hoc site travel required over the first 6 months)
Seeking a motivated and experienced Data Analyst for an exciting role within the Hydrogeology Drilling team.
The role will be Perth based with ad-hoc travel to site in the first six months. You will be directly involved in supporting the Hydrogeology Drilling teams across all Pilbara sites, that are responsible for the field preparation and execution of all water related drilling activities across FMG, including the drilling and construction of monitoring, production, and injection bores as well as earthworks, test pumping and field data collection.
The Data Analyst role is a key enabler for the team where your specialist skills in data management and analysis will be utilised to continuously improve our databases and data management processes and systems to allow effective management of drilling data and facilitate informed decision making.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Provide technical support to the Hydrogeology Drilling team across all sites
- Identify and create solutions that streamline workflow and improve data processes
- Create and maintain reports and planning tools that enable quick and effective decision making and analytics.
- Support the Perth Data Management and Drill Planning & Control teams in further integrating Hydrogeology drilling data into company data systems
- Ensure all drilling related & historical data is correctly integrated into the company data management systems.
- Generate and produce weekly and monthly reports
- Ad-hoc data retrieval and analysis as requested by management
Qualifications and skills required:
- Formal qualifications in engineering, science or data management and analytics
- Previous experience analysing geology or hydrogeology drilling data is desirable
- Previous experience in data management and analysis
- Ability to interpret and manipulate complex data
- Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, or other similar programs
- Working understanding of Tableau, ArcGIS and Visual Basic with advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
- Ability to manage a Microsoft SQL Server
