About the Role

We have a fantastic new opportunity within the Rail Network Maintenance (RNM) team, providing support to enable the

engagement of Traditional Owner and Indigenous vendors for various works on the WA Iron Ore network. You will support the development and roll out cultural awareness training and standards for the RNM team.

Reporting to the Superintendent Rail Execution Projects, this position is based in Port Hedland and offered either residentially, or FIFO from Perth on a 5/2/4/3 roster. Flexible work options will be considered.

You will be required to:

  • Identify and facilitate the engagement of traditional owner and indigenous contractors including supporting scope compilation, relationship establishment, contract establishment and contractor onboarding
  • Support relevant project managers, supervisors or superintendents in the management of contracts.
  • Liaise with Heritage, Indigenous Engagement and Supply teams to ensure the execution of contracts and works in line with business requirements.
  • Liaise with Heritage and Indigenous Engagement teams to develop cultural awareness training packages for the RNM team.
  • Obtain approvals including but not limited to; Stakeholder Requirements Specification, Management of Change (MoC), Project Environmental and Aboriginal Heritage Review (PEAHR)

About You

To be successful in this position you will be adept at building positive internal and external relationships, and have strong analytical and problem solving skills.

You will also have:

  • Ability to identify and manage risks
  • Previous experience in mining or other heavy industry
  • Experience in contract establishment, negotiation and management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal communities and traditional owners and an understanding of Aboriginal culture (desirable).
  • Strong experience in project delivery and project governance.
  • Computer literacy with 1SAP, Microsoft Office and planning systems.
