About the Role

We currently have multiple opportunities for experienced and safety focused qualified Trades People across our Western Australian Mine Sites here at BHP.  We’re looking for people from a broad range of backgrounds.  You will be responsible for completing routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities on our Mine Site Mobile, ancillary equipment, Fixed Plants and Rail.

  • Electrician
  • Mechanical Fitter
  • Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter
  • Light Vehicle Mechanic
  • Boiler Maker or Fabrication Trade
  • Auto Electrician
  • Plumbers
  • Carpenters
  • Air Conditioning
  • Refrigeration

These positions will only be open to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants.

About You Are you energetic and committed, work well with challenges, bringing attention to detail and have an ability to meet multiple deadlines. Do you relate well with people, communicate confidently and build collaborative working relationships?  Your ability to engage and build trust within your team and be a champion for change will ensure your success in one of these opportunities. To set you up for success, you will need:  

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, health, the community and the environment
  • Hold a Trade Qualification in one of the above maintenance disciplines
  • Experience working in a maintenance role in mining, heavy industry, manufacturing or a transferable industry 
  • Relevant experience performing preventative maintenance, repairs and fault finding on fixed plant mining equipment or similar 
  • Experience in maintaining haul trucks, dozers, graders, draglines, electric shovels, fixed Plants and auxiliary equipment would be beneficial
  • Your expertise in problem solving and diagnostics, coupled with your ability to communicate and build strong team relationships will make you an ideal candidate
  • The ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • A desire to achieve results through great teamwork and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-skilled team.
