About the Role
The Site Infrastructure team are looking for enthusiastic qualified electricians wanting to make their move into the mining and resources sector. The role will see you continue to develop your current electrical trade skills whilst learning what it means to work on site at our Port Hedland Port Operations. The roster is even time days shift only opportunity will see you rotate through a roster of 5 days on 4 days off, 4 days on and 5 days off.
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, within the Site Services team your duties will include:
- Electrical maintenance in line with the relevant electrical standards;
- Working from schematic drawings, prints, plans or manuals, and recording any modifications;
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults;
- Having a sound understanding of AS3000, AS3008, AS3017;
- Working across multiple locations around the Port Hedland area including Nelson Point, Finucane Island and exposure to our rail workshops;
- Carrying out all activities within the whole - of - job scope, including pre-work, JHA, organising materials, execution, testing and completion of tasks.;
- Ensuring that we meet out statutory obligations in accordance to Mine Safety Inspection Act.
Location – Karriyarra Country
In this residential role you will be based in the coastal town of Port Hedland, Western Australia. Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The 15,000-strong population enjoys well-established education services, entertainment, shopping and medical facilities. The excellent sporting and leisure facilities include; a new aquatic centre, sports stadium and water play park. Its beaches and mangroves are home to an abundance of fish and other wildlife. Within driving distance are the spectacular Broome, Karratha and Karijini national Park.

About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with your electrical trade qualification;
- Current WA 'A' Grade Electrical Licence or ability to have your interstate qualification converted;
- Ability to obtain MSIC & PPA access card;
- Manual drivers licence.
The following experience and qualifications are desirable but more important is a willingness to learn:
- Instrumentation experience
- EWP, Forklift, Dogging and Rigging Certificates
