We are looking for an Innovation Program Delivery Advisor to support the planning and execution of large-scale innovation programs across the Group. This includes top-down analysis to understand the value at stake and investment case, execution planning to build the integrated program roadmap, and execution support for individual project leaders. This role combines strong analytical skills with an understanding of innovation/technology and metals/mining.

This is a great opportunity for an analytical and innovative individual to contribute to the transformation of large-scale programs within the global mining and technology industry.

Reporting to the Head of Innovation Program Delivery and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will be:

  • Supporting the definition of the vision, strategy, and value proposition for each program, partnering with project leaders to ensure alignment with Rio Tinto’s long-term goals.

  • Collaborating with project leaders to define key pillars and pathways to achieve strategic goals, identifying gaps and opportunities for innovation.

  • Creating execution roadmaps that consider interdependencies and sequencing for effective delivery.

  • Establishing and tracking key performance metrics to ensure accountability and track program progress.

  • Identifying risks and obstacles related to program execution, and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure programs stay on track.

  • Working with cross-functional teams (R&D, engineering, operations, legal, IT) to integrate new technologies and methodologies smoothly.

  • Driving organizational change initiatives, promoting a culture of adaptability, execution bias, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.

  • A tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (MBA or related experience preferred).

  • Proven experience supporting large-scale transformation programs or projects, ideally in a heavy industry context.

  • Strong cross-functional background with an understanding of technology delivery, strategy development, and capital project processes.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for innovation, technology delivery, and large-scale transformations.

  • Familiarity with technologies such as IoT, AI, robotics, and data analytics.

  • Experience in risk management, financial analysis, business evaluation, and reporting.
