Rio Tinto’s iron ore (RTIO) business is made up of a network of mine, rail and port infrastructure operated as one integrated, and connected, system. In this role, you will be a critical part of the team that orchestrates these assets so that decisions are made in harmony with each other to deliver a product that meets the needs of our customers.

As Manager Planning & Analytics, you’ll be leading a diverse team of planners and analysts, to integrate and optimse the production plan and forecasts across the system; and provide insights on system performance and improvements.

Reporting to the Integrated Operations General Manager and working in a challenging and exciting environment within Integrated Operations, you will be:

  • Leading an empowered team of 23 analysts and planners whilst creating an inclusive and respectful environment for all team members.
  • Setting RTIO’s operating strategy across the next 18 months, including development of the Annual Production Plan.
  • Developing RTIO’s Quarterly Forecast (QF) to guide the business to achieve enhanced value based on customer requirements
  • Be part of the RTIO S&OP process to make decisions with marketing and commercial teams to maximise value for RTIO
  • Ensure maintenance alignment across the system optimise capacity
  • Support prioritisation of accommodation and labour constraints within the planning timeframe
  • Provide insights into system and asset performance against the QF and Annual Plan
  • Identifying potential bottlenecks and risks to performance, and, with asset stakeholders, develop and be the custodian of a pathway to improve to ensure Annual Plan targets are delivered

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Background in Mining/Ports/Rail/Processing and an understanding of the RTIO value chain from mine to market

Where you’ll be workingThis role will be primarily based at our Perth Operations Centre premises, however there will be a requirement to be located at our Central Park Office for various meetings and engagements with stakeholders.
