Title: Integration Systems Lead – Infinity

Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere)

Roster: 5/2 Roster (Mon to Fri)

In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet

Based out our new Hazelmere R&D facility and reporting to the green fleet development System Integration Principal, we are presently looking for an experienced System Integration Engineer to join the team

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Lead the integration and validation and testing of the Infinity rail project within Green Fleets portfolio in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
  • Responsible from start to finish all Infinity related V&V activities to ISO/IEC and relevant standards
  • Working in collaboration with the broader multidisciplinary engineering team (mechanical/electrical/electronics/software) as well as the project management and workshop execution teams to achieve system level testing and integration of the Infinity project
  • Capable of prioritizing and delivering work in a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to adjust to change quickly and adapt to new requirements
  • Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets
  • Develop technical specifications to meet project specific objectives.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scope
  • Resolution of technical and design issues
  • Ensure compliance to the project management process by project owners
  • Provide guidance regarding project budget, cash flow and schedule for existing and future projects
  • Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects
  • Providing regular updates with the Integration Principal Engineer

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Electrical/Mechatronics/Mechanical/Software Engineering degree
  • Minimum 7-12 years of experience
  • Well-developed soft and negotiation skills
  • Experience with locomotives and rail systems are highly desired
  • Experience with SiL & HiL frameworks
  • Matlab Simulink / Altair Activate experience desired
  • Project experience advantageous
  • Ability to work across multiple work fronts in a high-pressure environment
  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams
  • High commitment to safety
  • Experience with SAP work management
  • Experience in preparing detailed scope of works
  • Experience in participating / coordinating in the purchasing tender process
  • Experience in contractor engagement and contractor management process
  • Excellent interpersonal awareness with ability to work well in a team
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence
  • Results driven, responsible and accountable
  • Skilled in problem solving rapidly
