Intern - HSEQ

Macmahon is currently seeking a HSEQ Intern to join the Macmahon Tropicana team. This position will be on a continuous 8:6 roster, days only, flying from Perth. 

The role focus:

• Analyzing safety statistics and quality of daily HSEQ activities including hazard reporting, Safety Interactions and Planned Task Observations; 
• Sending out and following up on progress of current hazards and actions identified in Safety Interactions and Inspections and closing out actions; 
• Performing daily data entry of required safety related information into InControl; 
• Assisting with collating data for investigations/ICAMS and monitoring of safety KPI’s for end of month reporting;
• Assisting with coordination, communication and monitoring of compliance to the Macmahon Integrated Management Standards and associated processes.

To be considered for the role, you will need to demonstrate the following: 

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration or Work Health and Safety;
• Understanding of surface and/or underground mining operations and prior exposure to FIFO; 
• Exceptional attention to detail; 
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills; 
• Ability to effectively engage with multiple stakeholders across different levels of the organisation; 
• High level of computer literacy – intermediate or advanced 
• Current WA C drivers license (unrestricted) or equivalent. 

Should you be successful in being offered a role in Macmahons’ Surface Mining Division, you will be required to complete a medical and drug and alcohol test along with obtaining a National Police Clearance.
