Position Title: Inventory Officer 

Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday - Friday 

Role overview:

The Inventory Officer is responsible for delivering high quality Inventory Management Services and solutions to maintain the uninterrupted supply of required goods to the Fortescue Site Operations and for the day-to-day inventory transactions and routines that facilitate strategic inventory analysis.

This role will be based in our Perth office, offering the successful candidate the opportunity for some flexible work arrangements and requires planned, occasional site travel to engage with customers and colleagues.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Using the system tools and SAP to analyse settings and levels to optimise the inventory strategy and make required changes in line with the governing standards
  • Develop and maintain positive mutually beneficial relationships through communication with Key Stakeholders and ensure timely resolution of any Inventory related issues
  • Manage and maintain quality material master data at a plant level in SAP and perform ongoing item reviews for aged inventory and any material no longer required by the business to support Working Capital Optimisation
  • Coach and educate customers and internal team members in the intricacies and importance of effective Inventory Management
  • Lead and attend meeting to support problem solving to resolve identified areas of difficulty or service impacts to the customer and maintain MRP process, by analysing and quantifying MRP data, and actioning accordingly
  • Ensure Additions to Inventory (ATI's) are processed in accordance with current policies and practices and review Return To Stock requests to ensure appropriate outcomes for unused materials

Desired Qualifications and skills:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the capability to develop positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Experience in a Team-based Service Provider environment and to ability to work autonomously
  • Detailed process and systems proficiency and demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt
  • Personal discipline and motivation for high standards
  • 3 years' experience in a similar position (or transferrable skills) with SAP or similar system experience
  • Knowledge and or experience with Material Management, Inventory and Warehousing and Logistics processes and procedures and experience in Vendor and or Contractor Management
