We are looking for an experienced Inventory Officer to undertake warehouse inventory duties/tasks efficiently and effectively at our Weipa and Amrun Mine operation. This role is a great opportunity for someone who has prior work experience in a warehouse operation, can successfully multi-task, has excellent SAP knowledge and operates in a manner where safety is in the forefront.

Reporting to the Parts Consolidation / Inventory Supervisor and working in a diverse team, you will be:
- Managing Inventory ensuring that inventory rationalization and optimization is achieved for each individual Store or warehouse under our control by using IBM.
- Provide data for Supervisor e.g., relocation of fast- and slow-moving items within the warehouse.
- Building and maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders.
- Managing continuous updates and improvements in lead times, cost and inventory strategies using best practices, logistics and statistical principles.
- Expected to go over to our Amrun site on an occasional basis.
- The Inventory Advisor is required to interact with the Warehouse Superintendent, Supervisors and Warehouse Officers daily to make decisions on inventory levels and complete Stocktake activities.
- Interaction with all key stakeholders (Planners, Schedulers, Buyers, Operational groups) will be important to ensure that the correct stock is being held in the warehouse to support the maintenance activities.

- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Exceptional analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of logistics co-ordination and inventory processes.
- A positive attitude with an ability to engage with key stakeholders regularly.
- Comfortable with change and guided by strong values in your decision-making process.
- Intermediate ‘advanced or proven’ computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office suite applications e.g., teams, outlook, PowerPoint, video conferencing.
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Knowledge of SAP and/or IBM
- Project Management experience
- Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing and supply chain practices
- Previous experience in a mining environment

Where you’ll be working
Our Weipa operations in Far North Queensland includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, shiploaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals.Amrun, our newest mine, was completed in 2018 and will extend our Weipa bauxite operations by decades, significantly building on our 55-year history on the Western Cape, and providing jobs and supporting business growth in the region. The mine is located on traditional land. We work closely with the Traditional Owners to implement our agreements, ensuring that the benefits generated from mining support future generations and that important cultural heritage sites are identified and preserved.
