ABOUT THE ROLE
Supports the maintenance and operational activities of the business by working as an interface between the warehouse and work management; ensuring that the right spares are available to end users at the right time, the right place and optimum cost.
This role will be offered on aPermanent basis.
This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.
As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of the Refinery.
key responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Reviewing and executing inventory purchase requirements for the operation;
- Monitoring for inventory shortage risks and triggering expediting requirements;
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders
- Effective use of business systems and applying individual subject matter expertise to deliver positive business outcomes
- Adhering to a consistent framework of inventory management policies, procedures, processes and work practices that drive good practice across the business
- Lead and facilitate improvement projects to ensure materials availability and cost efficiency; including relevant stakeholder engagement, change management and tracking/reporting (e.g. within Kainexus).
- Support training and knowledge development of appropriate stakeholder where required
- Review and action MRP exceptions, including resolution of issues, to ensure material availability to meet planned requirement dates.
ABOUT YOU
- High competency in SAP Materials Management
- Technical experience in warehousing, inventory management or related supply chain activities
- Working within a geographically dispersed operation, interacting with diverse stakeholders at various organisation levels
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills applied within heavy industry maintenance or mining industry roles
- Demonstrated track record in managing and delivering improvement projects
Qualifications for this position are:
- Qualification in supply or procurement discipline (Certificate or above) or demonstrable experience in inventory planning
