Mine Surveyor - Iron Bridge
Work Location: Iron Bridge. Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth
We are looking for a motivated Surveyor to join our Iron Bridge operations. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new, large and deep pit greenfield operations.
The role is a special opportunity to join the startup team of major magnetite project. Reporting to the Senior Surveyor, their focus will be to capture and supply spatial data in a safe, accurate, and timely manner to various stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure all spatial data deliverables are provided accurately within required timeframes
- Work collaboratively with all customers to produce effective and appropriate outputs
- End of month capture and reporting of pits and stockpiles
- Develop positive relationships with team members and contribute to FMG culture through our values
- Contribute to a safe working environment
Qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Working towards or has a tertiary qualification in mine surveying or related discipline
- WA C Class
- Competent in use of GNSS, Total Stations and UAVs
Desired skills and experience:
- Maptek products experience
- Remote Pilot Licence (RePL)
- Ability to work effectively unsupervised
- A strong desire to innovate, problem solve and approach work with new ideas
- Bathymetric surveying experience
- Engineering laser scanning knowledge
- Previous experience in open pit (preferably Hard Rock) mining
- Intermediate level for MS Office products including MS Excel, MS Word, Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps
- Programming, especially python, C/C++ and VBA
