Iron Bridge - Security Officer (Gatehouse)
Work Location: Iron Bridge. Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 8D/6R, 7N/7R – FIFO ex Perth on Wednesdays
The role requires the successful candidate to work from the Iron Bridge security gatehouse located on the Mine Access Road. The security gate operates 24hr 7 days a week and is permanently staffed. Security Officer's work a 12hr shift and are accommodated at the Iron Bridge, Japal Village. The function of the Security Officer at the gatehouse is to ensure the Health and Safety of personnel onsite and monitor conformance to site entry requirements and rules.
Key responsibilities include:
- Allow safe and lawful access to site through Iron Bridge entry gate
- Provides 24/7 security to the Iron Bridge mine site
- Monitor and record entry of delivery drivers, visitors, contractors and employees to ensure compliance to site rules
- Monitor site Journey Management Plans and escalate any overdue journeys as required
- Conduct and oversee site access requirements (including but not limited to breathalyzer testing, random searches on vehicles and personal belongings, escorting procedures and oversize loads)
- Monitor site emergency channel and record communications as required
- Monitor adherence to security gate traffic management plan
- Daily reporting and collection of data
- All other tasks as instructed by the Emergency Services Supervisor, Superintendent and Manager
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in similar roles within the mining industry is an advantage
- Minimum Certificate II in Security Operations
- Western Australian "C" Class Drivers License
- Collect pathology specimens other than blood (desirable)
- Snake handling & relocation (desirable)
- Strong communication and report writing skills is an advantage
