About the role
We are looking for a dynamic, capable, and inspiring IS&T Superintendent to be a key team member of our IS&T leadership team. This person will work closely with the business and a lead a small technical team to provide excellent IT services and small projects at Weipa as well as working within a global IS&T organisation in managing and supporting a wide variety of technologies and digital capabilities across the operation.
This role is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about leading people and looking to contribute to a business that is embarking on a significant digital technology leverage journey.
Reporting to the IS&T RTA Pacific Operations Business Partner and working in a collaborative team within the IS&T Pacific Operations Aluminium team you will:
- Lead a small team of IT professionals, including development planning, and reviews.
- Coordinate day to day operational IT Support activities, including prioritisation of work and incident management.
- Support Project Management for the delivery of a range of IT related projects, including some elements of contractor management.
- Maintain and support a range of Industrial and Operational Technologies.
- Lead by example to apply safety practices and behavior principles.
- Be accountable for the management and maintenance of key site IT infrastructure.
- Demonstrate professionalism to manage customer needs and support services for the operational management team and staff.
- Act as an interface between the broader IS&T organisation and the IT support services for the site.
- Provide IT consultancy services for various site customers.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, ideally you will have:
- Strong skills in team leadership and championing change.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a strong culture of teamwork.
- ITIL service management experience.
- Background in IT|OT technologies.
- Strong safety focus with excellent customer engagement skills.
- Strong and demonstrable problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to build strong relationships built on trust and a strong commitment to service and technical excellence.
- Demonstrated experience in providing high quality IS&T support and customer service to clients both in person and via telephone including the ability to project a positive and professional image that fosters cooperation.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with a diverse range of customers, peers and management.
- Other specialised qualifications as appropriate to the role.
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Relevant diploma and/or IT qualifications attained from a recognised training provider or equivalent industry experience.
- IT background with Industry experience
- Working knowledge of ITIL service delivery and support processes.
