Ivindo Iron - Construction Supervisor-Mechanical (PPP)

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated individual to join the Belinga Project team as the Construction Supervisor.

The Belinga Project is located in the Republic of Gabon, Central Africa, and is potentially one of the world’s largest undeveloped, high-grade hematite deposits. Ivindo Iron, the Joint Venture between Fortescue Metals Group and the Africa Transformation and Industrialization Fund (ATIF), will evaluate and look to develop the Belinga Project.

Role Overview:

This role will be an integral part of the Belinga Project execution team and focus on the safe installation and construction of the Project facilities. The role will be required to manage the successful construction and installation of the Non-Process Infrastructure. The role will require knowledge of techniques fit for use in steep and dynamic terrains.

Key accountabilities will include:

• Engage, coordinate and manage the various construction contractors
• Lead the contractors to ensure safe and productive development
• Conduct inspections to verify quality
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with project stakeholders.
• Maintain schedule forecasts for on-site works.

Qualifications and skills:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar leadership role
• Experience in NPI construction
• Bilingual French/English is advantageous.
• Demonstrated capability of working in Western / Central African Countries
• Excellent communication skills with computer literacy
• Experience overseeing/assisting contractors completing minor construction works.
• Effective and practical approach to managing on site safety

• The role will be at the Project location in Belinga on a roster basis
