Ivindo Iron SA is a joint venture under Gabonese law created by the Australian mining conglomerate FMG (Fortescue Metals Group) and the ATIF fund (Africa Transformation and Industrialization Fund) and whose object is to develop the Belinga project .
This project located in Republic of Gabon, in Central Africa, is potentially one of the largest deposits undeveloped high grade hematite in the world.
Position: People Officer
Location: Gabon (site)
Roster: 2:1 (In-country hire only)
We are currently seeking an experienced & motivated People Officer to join the Belinga project in Gabon. Reporting to the Senior HR Coordinator - Gabon, this site-based role is responsible for providing administrative support to the People team as well as establishing process with the Perth people team.
The main responsibilities will include:
- General administration, data entry and HR duties as required to assist the HR team
- Collection of new employee documents
- Working closely with the vendor who manages the work permits/visas
- Assisting with various HR Projects and training programs
- Contract management and administration
- Assist with recruitment processes as required
- Provide advice, support and assistance for managers and staff on employee relations matters
- Work collaboratively with the Perth People team to coordinate and manage projects associated with Human Resources
- Coordinate the onboarding of local and international hires
Qualifications and skills required:
- A minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, in either mining or exploration environment would be advantageous
- Proven work experience similar role
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent time management and scheduling skills
- Solution focused with strong influencing skills
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
- Experience working in Africa preferably in the mining industry (not essential)
- Managed the administration of a recruitment process
