Ivindo Iron - Site Environment Advisor

Ivindo Iron is a Joint Venture between Fortescue Metals Group and the Africa Transformation and Industrialization Fund (ATIF) on the Belinga Iron Project.
The Project is located in the Republic of Gabon, Central Africa, and is potentially one of the world’s largest undeveloped, high-grade hematite deposits.
Role: Environment Advisor
Location: Gabon. Belinga Iron Ore Project
Roster: 2 weeks on : 1 week off
Key Accountabilities
- Management of local Gabonese and international consultants and contractors over multiple varied projects and locations.
- Collection, analysis, and interpretation of data.
- Communication of Ivindo Iron’s environmental approvals internally.
- Facilitating communications between technical staff and consultants.
- Monitoring of compliance with approval or permit obligations ( ESMP)
- Incident investigation and corrective actions
Qualifications and Skills
- A Tertiary Degree in Environmental Science, or equivalent (desired).
- Knowledge of environmental management and impact mitigation options relevant to resource development or exploration projects
- report writing and data entry
- Interpersonal and communications skills.
- An understanding of Microsoft Office Suite software applications.
- Experience in similar roles in remote location.
Desirable
- Experience in an environmental role within the resource development industry, NGO or an associated Government Department.
- Experience in use of GIS software
- Knowledge and understanding of the Gabonese Republic’s environmental approvals.
- Experience with community engagement highly regarded.
